In the area of gas turbomachinery, Engineer Alexandre Roma, member of the ITA Turbine Group at the Reference Center for Gas Turbines and also a private sector RD&I manager via a company involved in MD / FAB projects (1) and the MCTIC / FINEP (2).

As Director of Operations and Engineering at AERO CONCEPTS, he works in Research, Development and Innovation in the Project of the first national gas turbine, with applications on Aeronautics and Defense areas for COMAER (6). This Project is in full swing with DCTA Institutes (3), notably IAE (4) and ITA (5) which scope, in addition to the development of the aforementioned gas turbine, includes the implementation of a laboratory infrastructure of test benches for compressors, turbines and combustion chambers unexisting in South America.

In 2018, in recognition of the notorious services rendered to FAB, Engineer Alexandre Roma was awarded the Santos Dumont Merit Medal.
(1) MD/FAB: Ministry of Defense/Brazilian Air Force; (2) MCTIC/FINEP: Ministry of Science, Technology, Innovation and Communications/Financier of Studies and Projects; (3) DCTA: Department of Aerospace Science and Technology; (4) IAE: Institute of Aeronautics and Space; (5) ITA: Technological Institute of Aeronautics; (6) COMAER: Aeronautics Command.
Focusing on the Aerospace, Industrial and Defense sectors, AERO CONCEPTS is the convergence of years of experience from its founders and a multidisciplinary team of collaborators that reflects and extends such experience. Currently, AERO CONCEPTS is dedicated to design, manufacturing, tests, control systems, remote monitoring, diagnostics, troubleshooting and numerical simulations (fluidodynamic, structural and rotodynamic) of turbomachinery; commissioning and start-up of large thermal power plants; development of a national gas turbine for Defense applications within MD/FAB and implementation of a laboratory infrastructure for the development of a family of gas turbines (applications in Defense and power generation) for DCTA/IAE.
